Welcome to another Friday of more brand-new music. Today we bring you yet another game-changer release. This Hip Hop for the Hustle LP is a collaboration between our in-house production collaboration The Red Collective and one of its main composers – NINI. The album is out now and is available for streaming and licensing. So, stick with us to hear all about how the collaboration happened!

All About Black Sheep

Black Sheep” is a Hip Hop for the Hustle album that evokes confidence, awards empowerment to those who are misunderstood or taken as a minority, glows energy and swagger and an eminent strength to dance. It was inspired by today’s youth: the parties and the street life, college and the dreams. Tonally influenced from the sounds of Missy Elliott, Pharrell, Jermaine Dupri, and Quincy Jones, this album particularly embraces Atlanta’s music scene while contributing towards it in a fresh new way.

This is the first LP by The RED Collective that highlights the work of one of its amazing composers and producers – NINI. In her own words, NINI confirms:

Most people use Black Sheep as a negative thing. But as a person who never fits it in most circles, this word perfectly describes me.

I was the girl who had 1,000 NSYNC posters on her wall, while everyone else in my neighborhood had Tupac or SWV [posters]. ‘A nerd’, they called me. I was the only girl at school recess playing dodgeball, while all the other girls would play jump rope. So much so that my teacher used to have to force me to play with the girls. ‘A tomboy’, they called me, because ‘girls are supposed to play with girls!’

No matter what circle I seem to find myself in, I always was the ‘black sheep’ in that group. Nobody understood me so, in turn, I was bullied for it. I was always made to feel like I was the weird one and my passions were not valid…

But after a while, I started to embrace the Black Sheep role. Because a black sheep’s not a disgrace, or weird. It is a person who was never meant to be molded into a box. A trendsetter. 1 of 1.

A Black Sheep will always stand out and that’s what makes one destined for greatness.

Who Is The Red Collective?

The Red Collective is made up of an innovative group of elite producers and writers. Born out of Covid-19 as a way to support our artist community in a creative way during lockdown, The Red Collective has only gotten stronger.

It all started when our premium arm ASX hosted a “Writing for Sync” Masterclass which paired artists in collaborative pods. Hip Hop artists found themselves working with cinematic orchestrators and DJ’s found themselves paired with songwriters. The artists found value in the community and collaborations and their dynamic output was nothing shy of epic. And so, The Red Collective was born! The team creates within small pods, with each member of the “pod” bringing their own unique skill to the collaboration. This means there’s a wide range of styles and a mix of various talents and skill sets to bring your creative vision to life!

Ever since the group’s creation, TRC has built over 3M plays globally and has guaranteed numerous sync placements, including on “Teen Mom”, “College Hill”, “Grand Crew”, “All American”, “Selling Sunset”, and “Persuasion”, and for brands like Monster Energy, Vice, HBO, LinkedIn, Disney+, Amazon, NBC, Taco Bell, and more.

Who Is NINI?

NINI is an Atlanta based songwriter, composer and producer and one of the main creatives in The Red Collective. Passionate about music from a young age, she began to produce in high school and officially launched her music career in 2017.

Since then, this rising artist has produced songs for Kosha Dillz, Nissim Black, and Xodrew.

In late 2021, NINI joined The Red Collective and has ever since guaranteed sync placements on large TV shows like CW’s “All American”, BET’s “The Impact ATL”, “College Hill”, brands like Monster Energy, and multiple influencer marketing agencies’ campaigns.

NINI is now building on her unique composition and songwriting style, with luxurious brassy sounds and big choruses and strong music influences from Missy Elliott, Pharell, Jermaine Dupri, and Quincy Jones.

Black Sheep Is Great, How Do I License It?
